Federal Rule — Who Must Disclose
- •Required for vehicles under 10 model years old and under 16,000 lbs GVWR
- •Applies to private party AND dealer sales in all 50 states
- •Civil penalty: 3× actual damages or $10,000 per violation — whichever is greater
- •Criminal: up to 3 years imprisonment for willful violation
